The Simply Good Foods Company (NASDAQ:SMPL) reported net income for the third quarter of $ 7.14 million or $ 0.10 per share, compared to income $ 5.41 million or $ 0.07 per share for the year-ago quarter.
The Denver, Colorado based company recorded net sales for third quarter rose 11% to $ 107.23 million from $ 96.50 million in the same quarter last year.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected SMPL to report income of $ 0.09 per share on revenue of $ 102.22 million for the third quarter.

Scalzo, President and CEO, said, Our strong third quarter financial and marketplace results continue to reflect the effectiveness of the strategic initiatives we outlined earlier this year that focus on marketing investments targeting our broader lifestyle consumers, refreshed packaging, cleaner labels and new products.
The company expects the full year 2018 net sales growth rate to be similar to the year-to-date growth rate, Including the previously discussed investments in the business.
